This November, Between the Lines is traveling to new worlds with a science fiction themed reading and discussion centered around New York Times Bestseller Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. Station Eleven follows a traveling theater group in a post-pandemic America as they make art and make sense of their lives in a strange new world. The book has been selected for the NEA’s Big Read 2017 program and provides a unique opportunity for the community to speculate on the power of speculative fiction. Join us at Happy Dog at the Euclid Tavern where local sci-fi writers Charlie Oberndorf, Marie Vibbert, and Mike Substelny will discuss Station Eleven, read from their own work, debate the power of science fiction, and offer tips for how to craft a compelling sci-fi story.
